A busy start to 2022 and a welcome to two new faces.

After a busy start to the year we are once again finding our projects are getting delayed in the planning process. Our estate housing team have had two Taylor Wimpey projects delayed at planning which has led to the suspension of production phase work on both. Our bespoke team has a new luxury family dwelling stalled at planning since August last year, and several smaller minor applications are similarly delayed. The issues with gaining determination from the local planning authorities are now causing major headaches to us and our clients, with us all finding large holes to fill in our planned outputs.

Our estate housing team has welcomed two new faces in Anna and Daniel who have rapidly proved themselves to be valuable and skilled members of our team. We look forward to them continuing to develop and take on more autonomous, client facing roles.

Our principal, Jonathan Tolley, has been working with industry safety auditor SMAS Worksafe and we can now confirm that WADP Ltd has been assessed against the core criteria of the Safety Schemes in Procurement scheme (SSiP) by SMAS and is now an accredited SSiP Designer.

Our luxury house builder client Luxuria Developments Ltd is close to completion of two new bespoke designs by Jonathan Tolley, continuing their hugely successful development at Old Woking Road, Woking. Both houses have been sold immediately upon hitting the market at the asking price and we are now starting preliminary design work for Luxuria on new sites in Hook Heath and Marlow.

Our work at the Grade 2 listed Leybourne Manor for Taylor Wimpey continues. After 5 years the building has finally been fully underpinned and internal structures replaced to ensure stability. The single storey wing has been rebuilt and is water tight. The original roof trusses on the main manor have been painstaking rebuilt off site by the craftsmen at Anthony Hicks Ltd and they have now re-erected these on site and have completed pitching new rafters to the original designs. Drone footage was taken 3 years ago after the collapsed internals were partially stripped out, compare the images from that survey with the video of the new roof

Our work for Taylor Wimpey South Thames at Crawley phase 2B is pretty much complete and we are now working with them on the next phase of their major site at Heathy Farm, Copthorne.

Hopefully with the final lifting of Covid restrictions the local authority planning teams will return to normal working practices and we can see an improvement in their response to applications.
