Outlook is still hard to call.

2022 proved yet again to be a challenge with the effects of ‘Trussenomics’, high inflation and interest rates on the rise all creating a high level of uncertainty in the new build residential markets.

We have continued to work closely with various regions of Taylor Wimpey with our sites at Crawley Down and Turner’s Hill, East Grinstead both progressing towards completion. Also our projects for Taylor Wimpey South Thames for 136 units based on national standard product at Copthorne, and for Taylor Wimpey West London for 44 bespoke units at Binfield, are well advanced.

Over the course of 2022 we provided production phase information to Taylor Wimpey South Thames for 351 new dwellings at Hellingly and 314 new dwellings at Prince Philip Park, Bordon. Both of these sites should see starts in the spring.

Our bespoke team have produced planning and production phase information for two new large private dwellings on Hook Heath, Woking for Luxuria Developments, which are about to start on site along with three new split level dwellings in Marlow for same company.

Our work on the Grade 2 listed Leybourne Manor continues for Taylor Wimpey South Thames with the supporting scaffolding finally removed and the interior restoration mostly complete. As can be seen from the photographs a lot has changed in six years and it is really exciting to see how the Stable Yard and Manor have been restored and integrated into the new estate. The walled garden and public open space create a perfect setting, maintaining a suitably grand setting for this lovely old house.

Over the course of the year we said good bye to Daniel and then welcomed him back again along with Hayni, both of whom are working on Taylor Wimpey projects, along with Anna, all under the eagle eye of Studio Director Carla.

We currently don’t have any vacancies within the office but we are always pleased to hear from anyone interested in joining our team and we will keep any details on file should a position arise. The roles would best suit Part 1 or Part 2 architects and we have long experience of helping similar candidates pass through these phases to the next level of their careers, however we would be delighted to hear from any level of experience. We also offer the opportunity for flexible working for applicants looking to return to work on a part time or reduced hours basis. If you are interested in finding out more please contact us at info@wadp.co.uk.
